Men supporting men: Nigerian HR crack edition

Y’all are really weird.

I really love Twitter because everyday there’s some dumb shit going to remind you not everyone in the world is bright and it’s ridiculous to expect sense from everyone.

Summary of the screenshot: a company rep (HR?) personnel reached out to an applicant on whatsapp, and she didn’t give the most welcoming response due to not knowing who he was, and upon finding out she was remorseful but the “saint” of the guy ended the conversation.

Of all the stupid takes I’ve seen on twitter, I find it really weird that no one has thought “Well, maybe she gets these unsolicited messages from strangers a lot and really wanted to get along with her day by telling the person to speak up!”

Also, maybe the guy is a multiline typer that sends message one at a time, but why couldn’t he just introduce himself from the get go. Why send someone a whatsapp message that has the MO of a creep — I also see all of you acting like this isn’t a thing, but all you do is lie, so I don’t expect less.

It’s so easy to say “Oh she was rude, she deserved what came to her”, but why is no one trying to understand her own side of the story? It’s very ridiculous. What if he caught her on a bad day and she had no patience for bullshit that day. We all have those, so why is no one considering that.

Lastly, I’d say, the guy in question is clearly not a nice person because the same niceness you were expecting from her to extend to a total stranger, he too could have extended that niceness to understand her response and try to work around it, but it’s 2020 and we’re all choosing to be one sided and expect everything to come from the woman.

PS: It doesn’t even need to be a gender thing here, this could’ve happened to a guy and I’d still think the same thing. Nigerian HRs and just people in any position of power for hiring love to feel superior in every case, “I’ll tell mr Samson we had the discussion and you’re not fit to be part of LI”, well, maybe LI is not a good fit for her since they can’t send someone with more grace to handle an interview.

Don’t get me wrong, is there something she could’ve done better, yes, but could the guy have also done better? x10! He could’ve done better in introducing himself from the get go, it’s so easy! He could’ve also have extended the grace to her because women get harassed every day from strangers, and it’s human to react when you’re exhausted. smh.

To all of you supporting the guy and saying he did nothing wrong, I know you do crack so I’m not surprised.
